Harper's Bazaar 1949

How about a trip back to January of 1949?  In addition to the fabulous fashion, I really love the shoes of this period.

Love this whole look.

Enka Rayon ad.  They have some of the most wonderful rayon fabrics.  Ebay has a great collection of ads to look at.

  6. So many beautiful images and outfits. I think the most chic is the lady in the tan velvet suit...I'm just in love with her accessories too!

  7. The shoes in the last photo are beautiful, though I do wonder just what those sailors are gossiping about.

Harper's was such a treat because it was oversized, so you really got the best view of the photos. I'm not sure when they changed to a smaller format, but I know they were still printing Life-magazine size well into the 70's.

  8. Just visually delightful! Loved it all. I really wish we could find these outfits in a store on a regular basis. Designers knew how to design for women then! xox
