Train Case

I've been on the hunt for a vintage train case and I found one that I really like.   I've been trying to organize my vintage stash of items.  This train case actually still had it's original cardboard box with it.   I'm pretty sure it was never used and I am happy to report very much odor free but alas like many train cases no keys. Now, I have a nice storage space for some of my vintage gems.

A wish list item is one of these "week-end" handbags from Pichel.  Pichel appears to be a really interesting handbag company.   They have some very interesting designs and appear to be quality made so I plan to keep this company on my radar.  It does appear that there isn't much for sale by this company so it will be a matter of tracking.  Actually this might be another post to think about writing about is the name brands of various clothing and accessory manufacturers in the 30s and 40s.

Vintage Santa I'd love this Pichel week-end bag.

Coming up, I'd like to do a post on hankies.  There are some beautiful vintage hankies out there that just seem to lovely to use.  The ladies really wiped their noses in style:)  I've also found a hankie that is pretty close to an vintage ad:)

  1. beautiful! I have a small collection of train cases and they are so useful! I let my husband store is video games in one, I have makeup in one, vintage sewing patterns in another. That weekend bag is divine! I want one too!! :) I found a vintage hairdryer, the kind with the cap- with a bag shaped just like that one. Too bad it's white, it gets dirty so easily! :(

    1. I know what you mean:) It's like you wish you could go back in time. We've all either stalled and lost the item or thought we didn't want it but really did:)

    1. I'm amazed too. It's so much better than a plastic bag

  5. What a splendidly lovely vintage train case! I'd been on the hunt for one for years, too, and finally found a brown and straw hued one at a yard sale last spring for a total song. It's not in quite as pristine condition as yours, but is still doing great for its age and is currently living downstairs in my craft room (I'm not able to travel much, so it serves me better most of the time as a storage piece).

  7. That train case is wonderful! I've wanted a bag like that Pichel bag for a while now - preferably five different ones in various pastel shades! Oh if only there was a company that would start making bags like this again...modern overnight bags are so ugly. Well, a lot of modern luggage tends to be :(
